John F. HanlonExecutive Managing Director

John Hanlon joined Cornerstone in January, 2006 and is Cornerstone’s Managing Director for the Eastern U.S. Mr. Hanlon is responsible for leading all aspects of real estate operations for the East including acquisitions, asset management, development and dispositions. Over his career, Mr. Hanlon has been directly involved in the acquisition, development, entitlement, and disposition of more than $2.3 billion of commercial property. He has a working knowledge of the Central/Eastern PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, Northern VA , Baltimore/Washington, DC region, Chicago , Atlanta , and Central & Southern Florida real estate markets.
Prior to joining Cornerstone, Mr. Hanlon was a First Vice President and Market Officer (Capital Management & Capital Deployment) for ProLogis; responsibilities included overseeing the operations of ProLogis’ existing portfolio (PA & NJ), acquiring & entitling land for development and development throughout the Pennsylvania , New Jersey , and New York regions. Prior to ProLogis, Mr. Hanlon served as Director, Real Estate Development with Opus East, L.L.C. where he was responsible for land acquisition through development & stabilization of industrial, office, parking garage & institutional projects in New Jersey, certain submarkets in Eastern Pennsylvania, New York State, and beyond. Prior thereto, Mr. Hanlon served as Vice President of Acquisitions for a national REIT concentrating on NNN industrial and office acquisitions in the Mid-West. Mr. Hanlon began his commercial real estate career and ultimately served as Senior Vice President for a national brokerage firm in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. Metropolitan region.
Development projects total over 3.4 Million SF (mostly warehouse but includes a corporate headquarters office BTS) for a stabilized value in excess of $250 Million. In addition to the development projects, there was an additional 7.2 million SF in various development pipelines wherein Mr. Hanlon was responsible for the land acquisition/assemblage, entitlements and approvals.
Mr. Hanlon has a bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Political Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech) along with an MBA in Finance from the N.Y.U. Stern School of Business (included international studies in both emerging and established Eastern & Western European markets).
