Richard G. Alvarez joined Cornerstone Real Estate Funds as President of Distribution in February 2007. He brings a wealth of leadership, sales and marketing experience from his career in the financial services industry, which spans across more than three decades.  His overall management responsibilities include Sales, National Accounts, Investor Relations, Marketing and Information Technology.

 

Prior to Cornerstone, Mr. Alvarez was Senior Vice President and Western Divisional Sales Manager for the wirehouse channel of Prudential Financial/Allstate Distributors. Before his time with Prudential/Allstate, he served as Vice President and Divisional Sales Manager for the wirehouse channel of Travelers Life & Annuity. At Nationwide Financial, he served as Vice President and Western Divisional Sales Manager for the independent distribution channel.  He was also Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager of financial planning firms for Transamerica Capital, Inc. As a cofounder and principal, he managed an NASD retail firm in Los Angeles, CA. 

 

Mr. Alvarez is a well-known and respected figure in the broker/dealer and financial services communities for his success in leadership and marketing investment products for some of the most highly respected variable annuity, mutual fund and financial product sponsors in the industry.  He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and California Life Agent registrations and is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University, where he earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration.
